What do you do when the family is sick of steamboats?

We go to TODAI (located in Marina Bay Sands)! My entire family (plus grandma etc) headed down to the international buffet spread last night for an early reunion dinner. The food was amazing!

‎”Sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.” – Benjamin Mee, We Bought A Zoo

I’m no brilliant chef, but I’ve been wanting to cook more this year.

Coincidentally, the husband and I have been watching a Hong Kong drama series (Bottled Passion/ 我的如意狼君) together, and the female protagonist runs a soya sauce factory and is a great cook! Ever so often, she’ll whip up her special soya sauce dishes and leave us reallyyyhungry.

Here is Tung Pun Sin (the main lead) eating the dishes that the main female lead prepares for him! Everything is steeped in soya sauce!

Anyway, the hubby and I were craving for soya sauce chicken after watching the series – so I prepared it for the season finale. Harhar. It turned out pretty well!

The husband and I celebrated our 1st year anniversary in Paris! It was a complete coincidence, and not planned at all.

To commemorate the event, we decided to ditch michelin-star restaurants and fancyshmancy food places. Instead, we ran across the street in the cold (me in my PJs), and to buy takeaway from a nearby grocery shop. The plan was to get instant noodles and have a candlelight dinner in our apartment. (with Di and Raph!)

This is what we got!

Ta da!

I’m sure to remember the day in many years to come. And it was wonderful celebrating it with family. I still have fond memories of cycling in the cold and visiting the sites – but I must say we had the most fun in our little parisian apartment which we shared with my sis and brother in law!
