oscarwatch (spoileralert)

I like Ellen, I think she’s funny.

I think I like her because she’s on my telly at 6pm every evening and that might have helped foster this pseudofriendship that I think I have with her. Either that, or I’m strangely delusional.

Still, for what it’s worth, I know I’m biased. I’m definitely horribly subjective when it comes to film awards because to each his/her own right? HOW CAN DEPARTED WIN BEST PICTURE when the good thing about the film was the script itself? So, really, it’s the hkwriters that deserve the congratulations because infernal affairs was vvgd! grumble.

My absolutefavourite won best script though, so I’m satisfied. yay yay yay.

AND I can’t believe that MartinScorsese never won an oscar before (all the mobster pics and films we had to study for cinema?!). I remember fergus who was slightly enamoured with MS and would proclaim to be a scorsesefan in our film classes. then again, that was such. a. long. time. ago. when we were all young, still in university & had big dreams of changingtheworld.

S i g h. ryangosling. (who looked extremely indifferent when his name was called for bestactor.) Ok so he/I already knew that forestwhitaker was taking home the prize but he looked so damn good with the stubble and goatee in HalfNelson that I wished…

Oh nevermind.

perseverence + patience = superhero.

im going to believe that godisgood and that mygodissobig in the midst of life. that in the midst of manyquestions, and familytroubles. in the midst of brittney spears’s new hairdo. in the midst of disappointments and dreams,

the Word stays true.
