holiday (a different kind)

being in melbourne (finally) is strangely familiar and yet not. besides having my chest infected with the flu, i find i enjoy doing the ordinary things best:

walking in the cold air
safeway shopping with D.
lying on a couch
wrapping my legs in a doona
buying flowers
hanging out at ehui’s

So I travelled ______ miles to come over and surprise a graduate and see deb’s new apartment!!. A few minutes ago, I just spent (another) few minutes with debs getting her ready for her first day of work. We try to put on eyeliner – and she looks really good + professional and so I feel smug – because it’s my Mac eyeliner she’s using and so I feel useful around the household. grin. Today we trawled the supermarkets and picked stuff up and put it in the trolley then we put them back again. I think we were trying to watch the finances – and to (also) give her an excuse to go grocery shopping another day. So, this is our list.

In:
A Simpsons toothbrush
Brown paper packages for lunch
An apple

Out:
Scrapbooking tools
safeway chocolate cake

So it feels like Im living life here (again) because I have my very own prepaid simcard and can text and call freely – harhar. I will, when I leave, miss the cold and deb’s very vintage tv set.
