On top a helipad!

EA launched their soon-to-be-released Rock Band game for X-box last night by throwing one hellavu party at Swissotel. It was amazing as the Swissotel helipad is rarely open to the public -(it’s even higher up than Equinox!) and we could practically see the whole of singapore from there!

When Z and I first arrived, we were given a boarding pass to gain entry to the ‘launch pad’ on the 74th floor. I was v.excited and kept making sure Z didn’t lose the ticket stub as I had never seen a helipad before! After a long flight of steps, we found ourselves on the top of the building – with a bar counter (great music, and wine!) situated right in the middle of the landing space/rooftop. (!!)

Only 150 guests can be on the helipad each time due to safety precautions – so we had the option of amusing ourselves with the games and eating ourselves silly on the 69th floor. There was Peking duck. And a nice EA dude who lives in Byron Bay. And very loud music.

Here is a picture with the GA/hardwarezone gang for oldtimessake.

I was ALSO very relieved that the rain cleared by nighttime! The skyline was lovely, and there were black couches strewn about the helipad. Being the sucker that I was, I spent most of the night on the landing zone.

Guests also took home instant photocards courtesy of Livestudio . I thought it was a fantastic idea! I have to admit that I didn’t know who’d be there as well- so the night unraveled like a pleasant surprise and it felt like a reunion of some sorts. Nice!

(I will be recuperating all through the weekend.)
