Made of Honour!

Yesterday, a couple in Singapore made history by getting married in a cinema (vivocity) in conjunction with the gala premiere of Made of Honour. Her maid of honour slash wedding attendant was ALSO a guy (just like the movie). Hurhur.

I don’t have any pictures of the event yet – but it was definitely r.interesting to attend a wedding ceremony in the cinema. There were cupcakes as ‘door gifts’, red carpets and even little floral bouquets at the side of the chairs. Ashley’s ‘maid of honour’ walked behind holding on to her vv long train while the new husband+wife said ‘I do’ in front of the lobby. There was even the exchange of rings (!!) and passer-bys who were buying popcorn + coke stopped to gawk and whip out their cameras. Hurhur. Definitely the first of it’s kind!

But I’ve discovered that what I really love about this whole thing is the fact that I feel like I’m playing James Marsden in 27 Dresses. Like I’m a newspaper reporter covering nupitals for a living. Heh. I love interviewing couples before the wedding and learning about their stories + history. What made them fall in love. Was it love at first sight? How well do they know each other? It’s almost as if I’m responsible to write a beautiful + absolutelyamazing piece because I know they are going to keep it 40, 50 years on and show it to their kids and grandkids.

Anyway, the reallyfunny groom proposed in Milan (!) + the bride was beautiful. Grin. The whole thing was pretty crazy, and the entire crowd adjourned to watch the movie after the ceremony was over.

What a night!
