ugh : (

My throat is killing me! I’ve not had such a bad sore throat since I stopped teaching : ( They feel like razor blades. Ouch!

It’s q.funny though because we’re walking around like casualties. My house must be v.germified! Hurhur. Everyone at home is sick and I suspect my sister is the culprit. Grr.

Butbutbut I have goodnews! Di & I have finally thought of my dad’s 60th birthday present!! It has to do with hotel stays + movies + bed&breakfasts!

oooh! I hope they like it!

Bridgestone F1

Bridgestone Tyres held a press brunch at Oosh yesterday.

It was interesting! I was worried that I wld be lost in the sea of men + guytalk + sports_talk so I took notes hurhur (+ so I can update ken!). Ooh I thought of my favsportsjournalist too because sports_talk is def. not my forte & I imagined her going up there & doing her thing. : ) Heh.

Still, I had fun –despite my lack of knowledge! It was realllly interesting to hear how everything was being set up etcetc. Hamilton’s case was also being discussed… hmm…

And if anything, I think this whole affair is just making me pretty proud that we are makinghistory. Harhar.  ANYWAY:

In a nutshell-

The Singapore Street circuit will be the final stop of the street race (Aust, Monaco, Canada, Valencia, Spore). If we see good weather, it should take about 1min41sec to complete each round (+ 10s if it rains). What’s really interesting and firstofitskind re. singapore race is the fact that there will b many slow corners as compared to the rest, which makes the race more unpredictable + challenging. I think it wasn’t deliberate tho!!! Cos we don’t have much space here hahahaa. Looks like the f1 fans will have stg to look forward to!! : )

Some facts:
- the f1 car is about the same length as a porsche
- But while the porsche goes at 130 km/h at corners, the f1 car can cut corners at 260km/h (!)
- there will be 4 types of tyres used for the spore leg (mostly supersoft + soft) cos’ of our v smooth tarmac.
- 2000 tyres have been brought in for the race
-A special reflective white stripe has been placed on all the tyres cos the race will be taking place at night.
- It takes 1 hour for the drivers to walk through the track. During that time, they catch up with the engineers and watch out for the curves and details on the road.

Director of Ferrari also came and he got a lot of attention. But what caught mine was AT&T Williams’ rookie driver 23yearold Kazuki Nakajima. He’s the son of Satoru Nakajima, Japan’s first full time Formula One driver! He looked pretty shy and reallyreally jetlagged.

I thought it was pretty cool when he walked us through what they did at the pit stop and how he usually makes the decision to change the tyres. He was really concerned abt the weather and he hopes it doesn’t rain! V.few asians really make it in the F1 and Nakajima is determined to make it in the top 10. Nice!!

Meeting him really got me thinking! He has achieved so much at 23!!! Wow, vimpressed.
