No Regrets

I’ve decided to blog about because it is WAY TOO GOOD not to be shared.

(Major Gush Alert)

So don’t judge me - But I think Sheren Tang and Wayne Lai are superb actors.  I don’t exactly understand much Mandarin (and no Cantonese at all) but I’ve rediscovered the beauty of Chinese poetry! Harhar. (All thanks to the brilliang HK scriptwriter!)

I also think certain phrases ( like 但愿人长久, 千里共婵娟) can never be effectively translated to English.

The story is set in the WW2/ Japanese Occupation. Sheren is a drug lord while Wayne is a police.

There’s only 9 episodes left till the finale. Ahhh I’m going to miss them acting together!

Universal Studios !

Thanks to Raph and Di, Z and I got a chance to visit Universal Studios this week. And we didn’t even have to pay for entry! Hurhur.

It was nice to let loose and be a kid again : )

Di and I went around ‘New York’ taking pictures. She kept insisting they were really authentic heh. I felt like I was on Sesame Street.

Below: Di and Raph’s sister, Danielle.

And here I am with Woody Woodpecker.

Not all the rides were open-and we were too lazy to queue so we missed out on The Jurassic Park ride. But we checked out Lights, Camera, Action! (I’m stealing the pictures off my cousin’s facebook because we didn’t take any pics).

Then we decided to be diligent and queue up for the indoor roller-coaster ride at the “Ancient Egypt” zone.

It was pretty cool! I also liked Shrek’s “Far Far Away” and the Madagascar world.

Finally, the classic. <3 The carousel!

We had a whale of a time. I’m not sure if I would pay $70 just to enter but I think good company is very impt!

SATC2 with the girls!

A lot of things happened this long weekend!

Z and I had a wonderful time sourcing around for furniture (and arguing over bathroom flooring hurhur) and I crashed a Bachelor’s Night for the first time!

I also caught up with the girls today!

Liz is back from her honeymoon and she gave us a lovely dinner treat at La Strada. The carbonara is AMAZING (yummm with hints of truffle!) and we were probably talking too loudly in the chi chi place!. We ended the night with Sex And The City 2 and had a good laugh together in the cinema! What a great way to end the day!

I’ve seen a couple of episodes here+there, but never quite followed the entire series. SATC2 felt different… It resonated somehow?!

As the five of us turn 30 in a year’s time, the issues in the movie became “more real”/identifiable? Marriage/ Children/ etc. (We’ve journey-ed together since Primary School ! and have seen each other through the various seasons so I guess that was what made it special for all of us.)

It was fun to see Di and Liz laugh over scenes that ALSO take place in their OWN household. Carrie faced the issue of Marriage + Possible Loss of Identity? Etc Etc. Without revealing too much, I guess it really made me appreciate and enjoy where I’m at and how I cannot wait to embrace the next season!

(I won’t go into script analysis or their take of female empowerment or hints of possible non-PC jokes on the Middle East. !)

I guess what I’m really trying to say is that I had good fun with the girls. I’m so blessed to have them in my life.

I’ll end this post with my favourite phrase of the movie: You’ve got to take the tradition and decorate it. (I’m still mulling over this one.)

So if you’re looking to let your hair down, why not grab a couple of your girlfriends and head out for a bite before ending it off with a fun flick?

It definitely made my day!
